Tables
Browse and edit the rows of a table, read its definition, change its access preset.
Data view#
The grid shows your columns first, then the five platform columns (id, owner_id, space_id, created_at, updated_at), marked "Managed by the platform". Each column header shows its type.
- Filter on one column with
=,≠,>,≥,<,≤,contains,in list,is— the nine operators of the API — and Sort on one column. The footer shows the row count of the page and whether more pages exist; "First page" and "Next page" walk the cursor. - New row opens a form. Rows you create here are written by the account key, so they have no owner (
owner_id: null): on a private or journal table, no end user will ever see them. Create a person's rows through the app, with their session. - Edit changes only the columns you touch. Delete is immediate and cannot be undone — there is no bin.
- "Already submitted — nothing was duplicated" means the form was sent twice and the API replayed the first answer.
Definition view#
The generated CREATE TABLE statement, read-only, with a button to open it in the SQL editor. The five platform columns are deliberately absent from it: they exist on every table, and run_sql refuses to create or alter them. It is the statement Manybases would accept, not a dump of the real schema.
Changing the access preset#
Pick one of the eight presets; the help text says what each one means, and warns that changing it changes who can read and write every row. Saving opens a confirmation: "This changes who can read and write this table", with the server's summary of what would change (who gains or loses reading and writing, how many rows become invisible). The confirmation only covers this exact change, and expires in 5 minutes.
Two rules the screen inherits from the API: opening a table that already holds rows to everyone signed in or to the whole internet is a gesture only a signed-in human can make — which is you, here — and switching a non-empty table to a spaces preset is refused; empty it, or create it on that preset from the start. See Access presets.
Empty states#
"No tables yet" — ask your agent for one, or write the CREATE TABLE yourself in the SQL editor. "No rows yet" — create one above, or let your app write the first one. "No row matches this filter" — clear the filter to see every row.
